What Is Eyebrow Tinting?

Eyebrow tinting is a semi-permanent procedure that uses a special dye to color your brows. By using a light applicator brush, the dye is spread across your brows, leaving them darkened and appearing thicker.

What Results Can I Expect From An Eyebrow Wax and Tint?

You can expect the appearance of a darker, more shaped and defined-looking eyebrow requiring barely any maintenance.

Please note the above photo includes a lamination treatment to adjust how the hairs sit.
What is our Brow Tint Process?

Consultation regarding desired colour, any waxing and shaping requirements and we reconfirm if there is any history of allergies.

The eyebrow is cleaned to remove any naturally occurring oils.

We brush the eyelash to release any loose or mingled hairs.

We ask our clients to keep their eyes closed as a precautionary measure and may apply a cover over your eyes.

We apply the dye solution as per your requirements taking care to avoid placement of dye on any surrounding areas of skin.

The dye is left for approximately 5 - 9 minutes.

Any excess product is then removed.

Total time approximately 15 minutes.

The Benefits of Eyebrow Tinting

Eyebrow Tinting helps you address a number of concerns, including:

Eyebrows that appear thin or sparse that come from age or over-plucking

Eyebrows that are not defined, small or require constant drawing.

This treatment reduces your daily requirement for maintaining your eyebrows but without having a microblading treatment, the entire process is completely non-invasive. You may also benefit from having an eyebrow lamination treatment.

It's a way to enhance your natural brows while making them more dramatic.

The Risks of Eyebrow Tinting

While the procedure is not invasive, there are still some risks associated with the process. The most common side effects are irritation and allergic reactions to the hair dye. You may experience swelling, redness, peeling, itching or bumps.

The side effects may occur directly beneath and above the eyebrows, but they may also extend to your eyelids.

This procedure is not recommended if you have:

  • Sensitive Skin
  • Rosacea
  • Eczema
  • a history of contact dermatitis
  • Previous reactions to hair dyes or eyebrow tint dyes

The risks associated with hair dye are well-known. Repeated applications of hair dye can lead to dryness and damage. The same applies to our brow lamination service which includes tinting. Repeating the procedure too often, or sooner than 6 weeks, increases the chances of damage to your eyebrows and risk of side effects.

You may incur eye damage if chemicals run in to your eyes, however we ask and require that clients keep their eyelids closed during this brief treatment, similar to how we apply our eyelash extensions treatments. We may also apply a eye covering subject to client approval.

How to Reduce the Risks from Tinting?
Tinting is safe for the majority of customers but with any treatments applied to the skin we all react differently and therefore all consultations should include a patch test. The tint is effectively a hair dye so the same precautions should be taken.

You can book a patch test with us at anytime and only takes a minute to apply.
How Long Does Brow Tinting Last?

Brow tinting will last up to 8 to 10 weeks subject to following tinting aftercare guidance. You will not know exactly how long your brow tint will last until you have had a treatment, each customer is different subject to their growth cycle, hormones and other factors beyond our control.

To make your tint last as long as possible, keep your brows completely dry for 12 hours following your appointment (that includes washing your face), and during the entirety of your tint, it’s best to avoid applying oil-based skincare and makeup to the eyebrow area (this will cause the tint to fade).

Brow Tint Aftercare
The following aftercare guidance should be followed to ensure you increase the duration and benefit from having a tint applied to your eyebrows.

Do not touch or rub brows immediately after treatment.

If any redness or irritation occurs wash the area with water and use cotton pads to soothe the area. If issues persist, speak to your technician and seek medical advice.

The level of tint can start to fade within 2 to 3 weeks subject to levels of UV exposure and hair growth.

Avoid use of sunbeds following your treatment.

Effects of the eyebrow tint service will fade after 8 to 12 weeks subject to the natural hair growth cycle.

Avoid getting eyebrows wet for 48 hours post-treatment.

Use hydrating brow serum at home to encourage growth and hydrate the brow hair.

Avoid applying make up to the area for atleast 24 hours.

How Much Does Eyebrow Tinting Cost?
The cost of the tinting treatment is £10.00 as a stand alone service as of April 1st 2021
      How Does Eyebrow Tinting Work?

You are effectively having your eyebrows dyed no dissimilar to how you may dye your hair. The associated risks are the same regarding skin sensitivities, allergies and reactions. If you have any fine or light hairs, are fair-haired, then a tint will particularly benefit you. Those who have brown hair, or even dark brown hair, can benefit if wishing to go darker.
