    What Is Eyebrow Lamination?

Eyebrow lamination is a new procedure that creates a bold, shiny brow. It’s not a tattoo, but rather a high-tech way to change the shape of your eyebrows, and it’s getting attention all over social media. Eyebrow laminators are similar to microblading, but they don’t involve needles but you can include an eyebrow tinting service for a even pronounced look.

Semi-permanent eyebrow lamination is a great option if you want to keep your eyebrows groomed but don't want to be stuck using eyebrow gel every day. This process will require you to repeat the process at some point in the future, and there are risks involved.

    The Benefits of Eyebrow Lamination

Eyebrow lamination helps you address a number of eyebrow concerns, including:

    • Unruly hairs that tend to go in different directions despite brushing them
    • Thin, sparse brows that come from age or over-plucking
    • Gaps in your brows from overplucking or over waxing in the past
    • Eyebrows lacking shape or unevenness

Eyebrow lamination is a relatively new trend which you will have seen the likes of celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Hollywood Stars promoting, and for good reason. This treatment reduces your daily requirement maintaining your eyebrows but without having a microblading treatment, the entire process is completely non-invasive.

It's a way to enhance your natural brows while making them more dramatic at the same time. You won't have to spend so much time on them. What's not to love?

    The Risks of Eyebrow Lamination

While the brow lamination procedure is not invasive, there are still some risks associated with the process. The most common side effects are irritation and allergic reactions to the hair dye, if you opt to include eyebrow tinting. You may experience swelling, redness, peeling, itching or bumps.

The side effects may occur directly beneath and above the eyebrows, but they may also extend to your eyelids.

This procedure is not recommended if you have:

    • Sensitive Skin
    • Rosacea
    • Eczema
    • a history of contact dermatitis
    • Previous reactions to hair dyes or eyebrow tint dyes

The risks associated with hair dye are well-known. Repeated applications of hair dye can lead to dryness and damage. The same applies to brow lamination. Repeating the procedure too often, or sooner than 6 weeks, increases the chances of damage to your eyebrows.

You may incur eye damage if chemicals run in to your eyes, however we ask and require that clients keep their eyelids closed during this brief treatment, similar to how we apply eyelash extensions treatments.

How to Reduce the Risks from Brow Lamination?
Brow lamination is safe for the majority but with any treatments applied to the skin we all react differently and therefore all consultations should include a patch test.

You can book a patch test with us at anytime and only takes a minute to apply. If we are going to be applying any dye for brow tinting then this will also be applied to your skin. These dyes have the same associated risks as standard hair dyes.
How Long Does Brow Lamination Last?

Brow lamination will last up to 8 to 10 weeks subject to following aftercare and subject to how you sleep.

    Brow Lamination Aftercare
The following aftercare guidance should be followed to ensure you increase the duration of the benefit from having an eyebrow lamination treatment.

Do not touch or rub brows immediately after treatment.

If any redness or irritation occurs wash the area with water and use cotton pads to soothe the area. If issues persist, speak to your brow technician and seek medical advice.

The level of tint can start to fade within 2 to 3 weeks subject to levels of UV exposure and hair growth.

Avoid use of sunbeds following your lamination treatment.

Effects of the brow lamination will fade after 8 to 12 weeks subject to the natural hair growth cycle.

Avoid getting eyebrows wet for 48 hours post-treatment.

Use hydrating brow serum at home to encourage growth and hydrate the brow hair.

Avoid applying make up to the area for 24 hours.

      What Does Brow Lamination Cost?
The cost of eyebrow lamination is £35.00 as of April 1st 2021
        How Does Brow Lamination Work?

We first conduct a consultation regarding your desired look, hair colour and shade, whether you have any allergies and any waxing requirements. Following consultation, we apply a straightening solution to create the effect of thicker voluminous looking brows, the thicker your eyebrows the longer the processing time which is approximately 5 to 9 minutes. We then remove any excess product.

We then apply our next specialist solution, which will neutralise the straightening solution which is then left for an additional approximate time of 5 to 9 minutes, subject to eyebrow thickness. Any excess product is then removed once again.

At this point your eyebrows are now ready to be tinted, if you have opted for this to be included.

Eyebrow waxing is carried out as per consultation.

Total time is 45 minutes to one hour.

        Alternatives to Eyebrow Lamination

An alternative to having your eyebrows laminated, would be having a simple brow tinting treatment whilst maintaining your existing shape. This will make them more profound, accentuating a very natural looking brow.
